These statistics were, admittedly, coalated pre-Covid and though the numbers may have changed, it is likely that Tokyo still ranks supreme. This makes the Japanese capital a veritable record city, and the perfect name for the subject of this quarter’s shop profile, the Tokyo-based LP/CD emporium, Record City.
2023 marks Record City’s 30th anniversary. Its stock count is currently 721,183 items, of which 65,202 are classical music titles, an extraordinary selection by any measure.
